Grandma Asay visited! What fun!

Last August we had a wonderful visit from Grandma Asay.  After Scott finished his totally miserable summer of studying for comps, and passed with flying colors, (like he always does.  He's amazing!) we decided to have some fun.  Grandma Asay visited for about a week and we had such a nice time hanging out with her.

 I think this was first thing in the morning and she was obviously still tired.

 We went to the Syracuse zoo and had fun spending the afternoon outdoors.

 We were able to get very up close and personal with this Elephant.  The colors that are on it's face were from an Elephant show that they had done that weekend where they had painted the Elephants faces.  I've heard of that happening.
For a big huge animal I think it has kind of a cute little mouth.

 I love it when when we get the chance to have a picture taken where the whole family can be in it.  This may be the last time it happened.

 Evelyn and Allison were obviously more interested in watching the animals than eating their picnic lunch.

 Natalie had been climbing on a bench while eating her lunch and then she fell through the hole where the seat and the back of the bench didn't meet, leaving a gap.  She fell through but got stopped by her head not fitting through.  Poor girl!  She got a good bonk on her face from that.  That's is where the less than "crazy happy Natalie" face is coming from.

 These two were so in love!  They could not even be bothered by the humans looking at them through the glass 6 inches away.

 That does not look all that comfortable.  I prefer standing on two legs or sitting.  And how strange would it feel to walk having your knees bend backwards?

 This monkey had just had this baby the day before.  It was so protective.  Every time another monkey would get even close at all it would take its baby and move farther away, always shielding it from others.  So sweet!

 Allison decorated herself and her blueberry picking jug with LOTS of stickers.  Then she played with friends and ran around, letting most of the blueberries she had picked pop right out of her jug.

 Natalie sure had fun steeling all of my blueberries!
