Grandpa Asay came for a visit in May. The girls were so incredibly excited for Grandpa to get here! We had a fun time and here are the few pictures that I took:

Grandpa headed to New York city for his business trip and daddy headed to school for the day.
Natalie split her left eyelid open one evening after dinner. She had split her right eyelid a couple months before this. No stitches on the right eyelid a few months earlier. This time I did take her into the ER and.....
After an hour waiting and a sad few minutes of watching her be terrified of why she was being restrained and given a shot and given 2 stitches....and I just sat and helped it all happen....this is what she looked like.
Then a few days later she had a beautiful black eye. When we went swimming later that week at a friends house in their little kiddie pool....poor girl did not at all understand why I would not let her swim. But she did end up jumping in anyway. Good thing her wound did not get infected! Too bad that taking out the stitches a week later was more traumatizing that getting them put in. When her Dr. pulled up the tail of the knot and snipped what she thought was all of the knot (when it was really only half of it) it left nothing to grab to pull the rest of the knot up with and ended up taking over 10 minutes of Natalie screaming, pulling in a second Dr. to help, and causing it to bleed again. Poor girl and her sisters were scared of her screaming and went out in the hall. I was frustrated that when I mentioned to the Dr. how well it had worked to wrap Natalie up in a big sheet in the ER, she chose not to do it and said it would just be quick. It was not that quick and not that painless. All the while Natalie is wondering why I am pinning her down and letting them do it all to her AGAIN. Once they were done she got over it pretty quick. I really takes a lot for her to feel the need to cry for more than a minute or two.
Natalie always chooses such stable toys to climb! Funny bald little girl! And no, this is not what caused her to get stitches.
Our last night with cute little friends Jordan and Halle before they left us in Ithaca and headed to Cincinatti, OH. We have made so many friends in our time here and we have seen so many friends leave! It is always sad to see them go! But we are always so glad that we got to meet them all!
